I hope you are all enjoying the onset of winter in the Inland Empire. Snowflakes are flying, and the holidays are upon us. We wish you a wonderful holiday season!
IENA hosted our annual Legislative Reception on October 19th at Mukogawa Commons in Spokane with the support of our local partners, the Washington Association of Nurse Anesthetists (WANA) and Nurse Practitioner Group of Spokane (NPGS). Approximately 100 nurses, students, and guests attended, listening to and engaging with 16 legislators and candidates as well as nursing leaders from WANA, NPGS, and Sofia Aragon (WSNA). What a great opportunity for us to hear from Representatives about issues affecting healthcare in our communities. It also provided those attending the chance to educate our current and future elected leaders about nursing issues and patient care concerns.
Excellent food and drink, stimulating conversations, and opportunities to learn! What a wonderful evening, especially during this historic election when we celebrate 100 years of women having the right to vote in Washington State. We hope that those who attended enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed hosting it…and we hope to see you all there next year!
