IENA Board Biographies

Louanne Hausmann

Louanne served IENA as a Director-at-Large, Secretary, President (2011-2012) and Vice-President.

After graduating from Central Texas College in 1974, Louanne earned her BSN from Incarnate Word College and her MA from Midwestern State University. She was commissioned in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps in 1982 and retired from the same in 1999. Presently, she is the nursing supervisor at the Spokane VAMC where she has been employed since November 1999.

Louanne is Past President of the Inland Northwest Chapter of AACN, a member of NOVA (the Nurses Organization of the Veterans Administration), and a member of the Society of Air Force Nurses.

She was born in Middlefield, MA, but as a military brat her family moved constantly. San Antonio, TX is her official home of record, although she now considers herself a Spokanite, having lived here for twelve years.

Louanne and her spouse, John, have four children:  Christina (Dallas, TX), Jennifer (Spokane), Lisa (deceased) and Jake (student at SFCC). They also have foreign exchange "children" in Norway, Germany, Holland, and Sweden. She is the adoring grandmother of Alaura and Moira.
