IENA Board Biographies

Mikey O'Sullivan, RN

Mikey serves as IENA's Community/Public Health representative.

Mikey is originally from Sioux City, Iowa. She is currently a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics student with a graduation date of April 2019. Mikey is working as a clinical floor nurse at Unify Community Health in Spokane.

Before moving to Spokane in January 2017, Mikey ran a prenatal clinic for the underserved population in Sioux City, Iowa. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree as a non-traditional student at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.  Prior to earning her nursing degree, she was in restaurant management and outside sales.

Mikey and her daughter moved to Spokane to be close to family and are happy to call Spokane home. Her daughter is active in sports, dance, Spanish, and all outdoor activities.

Mikey has a passion for community health nursing and working with the underserved population. She plans to use her Nursing Informatics degree to collaborate in organizational decision-making processes as a nurse leader to improve workflows and improve population health.

She joined IENA to be part of a group of nurses, to mentor incoming nurses, and to make a positive change for nurses in our community.
