IENA Board Biographies

Rhonda Shrivastava, RN

Rhonda formerly served IENA as a Director-at-Large.

Rhonda graduated from nursing school in 1994 and soon after took a job as a Public Health Nurse in Bakersfield, CA. When taking the job, she had no idea how much she would come to love Public Health, which has become her specialty and passion. While in California, she worked as a general field nurse, doing home visits for Children with Special Needs and communicable disease control. Rhonda also spent several years working in tuberculosis control, ensuring that all TB patients in the county were treated according to CDC guidelines.

 

In 2006, Rhonda moved to Spokane. She works at Spokane Regional Health District in the Nurse-Family Partnership Program, doing home visits for first time, low income moms from pregnancy until their child turns two years old, with the goal of decreasing child abuse rates and improving school and economic outcomes.

 

Rhonda has served as the WSNA local unit co-chair at Spokane Regional Health District and was elected chairperson in June 2013.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys photography, biking, reading, and spending time with family.
